I am one big soccer fan. No really... actually sports in general - a HUGE fan! If you asked me if Kimi Räikkönen was the goalkeeper of Inter Milan, I would have definitely agreed... :-D And the soccer competition EURO'08 has only marginally drawn my interest in the past few weeks. But this all has changed on December 1, 2007.

Out of the blue, our crew for the SWISS flight LX2806 was informed that we would fly from Zurich to Geneva on an interestingly looking A320 advertising the Swiss particiption in the soccer game "EURO'08". I had heard about the plane before, but did not show special interest in the whole thing. But my mood changed when I realized that I - together with my crewmates - was among the first crew to take the "SWISS EURO-Bus" to the skies of Switzerland! Most probably it's just pure irony that out of dozens of soccer-fanatic first officers working for SWISS, it was me as an absolute "sports nobody" to fly this first-timer...
